especially if you’ve always wanted to testify but
thought it was too complicated.

Child Protective Services Reform and Renewal
Partners in CPS Reform
Texans Care convened the Partners in CPS Reform group to
provide a forum for representatives of the Department of
Family and Protective Services and community
stakeholders to share information and concerns regarding
the implementation of S.B. 6, with the goal of achieving
the smoothest transition for vulnerable children and
families as possible. It is imperative to have both the
agency and community perspectives to ensure that true
reform occurs, and to avoid the pitfalls that other
states have encountered. By working together, we hope to
build a stronger safety net for vulnerable children in
Texas.
Texas Early Care and Education Coalition
Proposal for Interim Charges
At the end of the Regular 79th Legislative Session,
TECEC did a call for feedback about what ideas you had
regarding potential interim “charges” or topics to be
studied by the Texas Legislature in preparation for the
80th Legislative Session. We received dozens of feedback
forms relating to the early care and education needs of
your community. Thank you to each of you who informed
this process.
Based on all of the individual feedback we received,
we compiled the information into five major categories,
including the Texas Early Education Model (TEEM),
Infants & Toddlers, High Standards, Professional
Development, and Financing . Then, under each
major category we listed a potential “charge” to be
studied by the Texas Legislature.

Texas Healthcare Primer
Produced by the
Center
for Public Policy Priorities (CPPP) in partnership
with
Methodist Health Care Ministries, this introductory
guide explains who gets health care in Texas, who
doesn’t, and why that matters. Paying for health care
has become particularly difficult after the 78th
Legislature’s cuts to the state’s contribution to health
care. This primer is meant to fuel a re-examination of
our state policies.
