Join KLRN for a parent and child session that will make your child excited about reading! The session includes the read-aloud of a timeless children’s story followed by a fun hands-on activity created to enhance your child’s educational development. These sessions are free and open to parents and children age 0 to 8. Each session features a free book and activity to take home. August 25-26, 2006- Radisson-Market Square: Texas Fiesta Educativa - 18th Annual Statewide Bilingual Conference. Texas Fiesta Educativa is a state-wide conference that promotes effective services for persons with disabilities and their families. The conference links individuals with disabilities and their families with community professionals to improve access to health and human services, education, and vocational rehabilitation programs.

Special attention is given to improving services for historically under-served groups. Information and training sessions are offered in English and in Spanish.

The Voices Early Care & Education Task Force has been meeting with Council Members and their staff to urge a $1.5 million dollar investment in the professional development of our childcare teachers.

If you agree with the research, that well-trained teachers are the essential ingredient in a quality pre-school experience for kids, then please lend your voice to our effort!

If you can not make your district hearing, drop your council member a brief note or phone call.  Their email and number is also on the schedule!
